From the Metalliferous hills trough
the Pisan hinterland and the Isle of
Elba - the biggest isle of the Tuscan Archipelago.
This is the area of the "Etruscan Coast" Wine Road
that extends itself mostly in the province
of Livorno up to the are of Montescudaio
DOC Wine, in the Pisan hinterland.
Indeed, it is along
this way that grown some of the most exclusive and precious
wine varieties of the Tuscan and Italian production. These
are lands where grown wines such as Ornellaia or Sassicaia,
a wine created by Mario Incisa della Rocchetta or Guado
al Tasso (Bolgheri DOC Wine), apart the productions
in the area of the Isle of Elba and Val
di Cornia.
A way that goes -as many Wine Roads- trough areas that keep
little and big beauty both artistic and naturalistic: medieval
villages, historical castles, parks and
a wonderful sea of the Isle of
Elba.
The Wine Roads of the Etruscan Coast is made up of four
production areas: Bolgheri DOC that
goes from the Medieval village of Bolgheri towards Castagneto
Carducci, through the wildlife oasis of Bolgheri,
a wet area considered of international interest. This is
the place where grown the precious wines of Bolgheri.
The area of DOC Elba goes all
over the lands of the isle of the Tuscan Archipelao. There
grown of wine varieties that become Aleatico
wine or Vin Santo (straw wine) Occhio
di Pernice.
